Vertical Integration - When a production company has complete ownership of the production, distribution & exhibition of the film by the same company and receive all of the profit.

Horizontal Integration - When two (or more) companies work together on a product at different stages of a production and use the expertise of a company

    One advantage AND one disadvantage of vertical & horizontal integration.

    1. Advantage (horizontal): Reaches a wider audience as fans of all corporations will watch AND the film will be of a higher quality as they have experts of their field working in every area (not 100% sure if that makes sense)
      Disadvantage (horizontal): Companies receive less profit as it has to be split

      Advantage (vertical): 1 Company has complete ownership over a product so it gains them more undivided money
      Disadvantage (vertical): May be lacking in quality in one area for instance, poor editing and post production but high quality production and on-set filming
